Marah sat on the beach staring out at the ocean. It was February and too cold to go swimming, but she loved being near the ocean. She loved watching the waves roll in and back out again. She sighed, leaned back, and was surprised to to find herself touching someone's feet. She looked up to see who had been standing behind her and looked up into the most gorgeous blue eyes.
"Hello" he smiled.
"Hello yourself." she smiled back at him. "Would you like to join me?"
He nodded and sat beside her.
"I'm Elijah." he held out his hand, which she took into hers and shook slowly.
"I'm Marah. Are you from around here?" she asked. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here before."
"No, I'm from California."
"Wow, you're far from home. It's not exactly tourist season yet.." she looked at him curiously.
It was then that he realized that she didn't recognize him.
"I'm here on business." he told her.
"Business, huh? You look awfully young to be in a profession that has business trips."
He just smiled at her. She thought to herself how charming his smile was.
"What do you do?" he asked.
"I go to school at the community college in town."
"What are you in school for?"
"Well my major is in business administration, but I just dont know if that's what I want to do with the rest of my life or not. Do you know how that is?" She watched as a wave rolled in, bringing sea shells with it.
"No, I've known since I was a kid what I wanted to do."
She turned to look at him. "And what is that?"
"Act. I'm an actor."
"An actor, eh? Been in any movies yet?"
"Yes, a few. Radio Flyer, North, and The Faculty to name just a few."
She stared at him for a moment, then her eyes widened with recognition. "Holy shit!! You're Elijah Wood!" He just kind of smiled at her while she took that in. "How could I have not recognized him?" she was quite obviously talking to herself, which made him chuckle. "So you find me funny, hmm?" she smiled shyly at him.
"Yes, I do. I find it funny that now that you realize who I am you're acting all shy, but before, when I was just some stranger with you on the beach, you were very open and ... well... not shy."
"Well, it's kind of weird.. to realize you're sitting beside a movie star." she replied.
"Would it be even more weird to kiss a 'movie star'?" he whispered as he leaned closer to her. He looked down to see her lips and watch her soft barely audible gasp of surprise before touching his lips to hers.
Her mind reeled as she watched him lean closer and closer, and she heard herself gasp as his lips took command of hers. His hand touched her cheek as he deepened the kiss. They pulled back slowly, each staring in the others eyes, wondering if the other felt the same spart of sudden and intense attraction. They leaned together again, kissing as if the world were coming to an end the next morning. He pulled away slowly and stood up. He held his hand out to her. "Will you come with me?" She took his hand and never looked back.

When Elijah woke the next morning Marah was in his arms. He smiled as he remembered the previous night and held her a little tighter. He glanced at the clock beside his bed and swore under his breath. He looked at Marah, she was so beautiful and peaceful while sleeping. He decided to let her sleep and leave her a note instead of waking her. Gingerly, he got out of bed and walked into the shower. He dressed quickly and quietly and then sat at the desk in his room to write a quick note.
Marah-
Last night was wonderful. You looked so peaceful sleeping, I didn't want to wake you. I have a meeting this morning I can't miss, give me a call later today at 422-6065 and we'll meet up.
Elijah.
He quietly shut the door behind him and hurried to his appointment.
When Marah woke she as all alone. She found the note he had left for her and smiled as she read it. She decided she'd take a shower and then wait for him to come back as she had nothing important to do that day. She hummed as she shampooed her hair.
"Lij?" a woman's voice called as she entered the bathroom. She opened the shower curtain and both women screamed.
"Who the hell are you?" Marah yelled.
"No, honey, who the hell are YOU and what are you doing in MY fiance's hotel room?" the shorter, brunette woman demanded.
"Fiance?" Marah squeaked. "I um.." Marah didn't know what to say. She couldn't believe this. She thought she felt a connection to the man.. she thought that there might be something between them and he was engaged? Marah grabbed a towel off the rack and covered herself up. "Could you please leave so I can dress?" she asked softly.
The other woman "hmphed" and left the room, slamming the door. Marah began to cry softly as she dressed. She walked out of the bathroom and saw that the woman was still there.
"Are you going to tell me who you are?" the woman asked again.
"It doesn't matter who I am." Marah said as she fled the room.
